A six-goal performance from Zach Mitchell led the Spring Lake lacrosse team to a 9-4 win over Reeths-Puffer Thursday.

Keegan Fritsche added two goals and Jake Vinkemulder had one goal for the Lakers. Andrew Von Wahlde, Luke Rantanen, and Mitchell all had one assist apiece.

The first quarter ended 2-2, with Mitchell and Fritsche scoring for the Lakers. Heading into halftime, the Lakers led 6-2 and they finished the third quarter with a 9-4 lead.

Defense was also a key element for the Lakers as they forced 11 turnovers on the night.

The Lakers are now 2-1 on the season and they will face Grand Haven on Saturday.
