It was the first victory of the season for the Trojans, who are now 1-1 overall and in conference play.
Fruitport’s Cody Nash got things going in the second quarter with an 80-yard touchdown run. Quarterback Gavin Reames found Blake Haight for a 5-yard touchdown pass later in the quarter, and the Trojans led 14-0 at halftime.
The offensive fireworks continued in the third quarter when Aiden Vela had a 21-yard scoring run and Camden Farrell broke loose for 57-yard TD run. Fruitport led 33-8 headed into the fourth.
Reames added a 15-yard touchdown pass to Caden Spyke in the fourth quarter, then Tyler Zimmerman closed out the scoring for Fruitport with 1 one-yard TD run.
Reames completed 10 of 17 passes for 116 yards and two touchdowns. Farrell rushed four times for 102 yards and caught four passes for 35 yards. Nash finished with 82 yards on the ground, Vela had 45 and Andrew Fielstra gained 43.
Defensively, Haight had two interceptions while Fielstra, Zech Richardson and Ronnie Taylor each recorded six tackles.
Fruitport will host Allendale next Friday.
