The Grand Haven football team finished its regular season with a 37-6 win over Grand Rapids Union in non-league play on Friday.
Owen Krizan opened the scoring with a 13-yard touchdown run, then Connor Worthington scored a five-yard run.
Krizan added his second touchdown of the night on a 23-yard run that gave Grand Haven a 21-0 lead.
Austin Broemer closed out the first quarter scoring for the Bucs with a 25-yard touchdown run.
The Buccaneers forced a safety on a tackle in the end zone by Worthington and then closed out the scoring for Grand Haven on a 20-yard touchdown run from Brian Nicholson.
Grand Rapids Union closed out the scoring on a 74-yard touchdown run during the third quarter.
The Buccaneers had a total of 226 rushing yards led by Krizan and Broemer with 68 yards apiece.
Worthington was strong defensively for Grand Haven with 5 total tackles and a sack, while Adam Strom and Brian Nicholson also contributed with six total tackles and a tackle for loss each. Landon Vanbeek had a fumble recovery for the Bucs.
The win improved Grand Haven’s record to 5-4 overall and 3-3 in conference. The Bucs will see if they will make the postseason with a five-win season.
