The Fruitport boys soccer team won a league contest over Kenowa Hills 5-2 on Thursday in an O-K Black Conference game.
Fruitport’s Bryce Lanore contributed with a goal and an assist and Ryan Laus netted a goal.
Goalkeeper Connor Hines had eight saves on the night for the Trojans.
Fruitport improved to 5-5-2 overall and 3-2-1 in the O-K Black Conference.
SHELBY 8, REED CITY 0 – The Tigers won a non-league game on Thursday in shutout fashion.
Matt Felt paced the Tigers, scoring four goals out of the team’s five first-half goals. Felt also added an assist on the win.
Diego Gonzalez followed with two goals and an assist while Alfredo Arreola finished the contest with a goal and two assists. Chris Schuchardt added one goal and one assist for Shelby.
The Tigers are now 5-5-1 overall and 2-1-1 in the WMC play.
LUDINGTON 3, MANISTEE 1 – The Orioles continued their strong season Thursday night with a win in Lakes 8 competition.
Ludington, which outshot Manistee by a 22-3 margin, was led by Will Flewelling with two goals while Steven Darby netted one along with an assist.
Maxime Greiner picked up another win in net for the Orioles, stopping both shots faced.
Ludington improves to 12-1-1 overall and 3-0-1 in the conference play.
WESTERN MICHIGAN CHRISTIAN 3, SPRING LAKE 0 – A great team effort all around allowed the Warriors to earn another shutout victory.
Andrew Rasmussen struck first for the Warriors, notching an unassisted goal in the first half.
In the second half, Charlie Alfree netted two goals off passes from Hayden Hubers and Brevin Byrne, respectively.
WMC goalkeeper Jameson Goorman had another great night in net, stopping two key shots and earning the shutout victory.
The Warriors are now 8-1-2 overall and will play Whitehall this Saturday.
JENISON 4, REETHS-PUFFER 0 – Despite an evenly played 30 minutes to start the game, three late goals in the first half made all the difference Thursday night as the Rockets dropped a conference match.
The Rockets were outshot by a 17-5 margin.
